~ the lovely awake ~

the sea and mountain sky
have worked their magic
and I
am floating
in the mystic blue,  of
~ the lovely awake ~

mesmerized by a majestic –
beyond beautiful –
otherworldly, earthly place:
a portal to this shushed
transcendent state

my spirit stirs
deep down
it has a name – I call it: Soul,
in moments such as this:
I feel its presence … wonder full

it is as real as the wind,
although, I carry it with me
ethereally clasped
and palpable

  1. 'the lovely awake' reminds me of the Nature poets...the state is Nature's gift to a fully awakened man...beautifully penned Wendy...

  2. wonder full - what a perfect way of describing this state of awareness and appreciation of the wide open blue space of the Soul and all it takes in when we stop to open it up and contemplate. This is a good poem, Wendy ! Thank you!

  5. I call it: Soul,
    in moments such as this:
    I feel its presence

One is expected to be enlivened by presence of that element to guide us into accepted norms. Being aware of it half the battle won! Being not aware one is lost!

  11. Wow. This is GOOD. I especially like the first two stanzas, and then, what you did with "wonder full." The last three lines, too, are especially stirring.
