final say - a terza rima sonnet

here are the words I gathered, where I passed
on grassy paths or on fresh fallen snow,
a-rambling in shadows that I cast

I gathered words in dawn and twilight glow,
and amber hue and under azure sky
where misty mountains rise and waters flow

I gathered words that soared or tumbled by,
in buoyant gusts like leaves upon a breeze,
or flitter-fluttered – like a butterfly

I gathered lovely words, round me … and these
have tugged and wriggled from my pen-held grasp
and landed on a page in ‘Poetese’.

my final say when I have breathed my last:
here are the words I gathered, where I passed

  4. I think we all have that urge to write the words and feelings down lest we miss the opportunity to say something that up to now has not been penned and may touch someone who cares.

  8. Love how you concluded this.. to gather words resonates so much with me. The repetitions works so well and have the same feeling as a Villanelle.
