Tanka – in two parts

cocooned in the still
magic in the mystic spell
moments gently drift
across white blanketed hills
through shushed snow enfolded boughs

in the solitude
and clarity of silence
enlightenment falls
like an unspoken mantra
. . . and my spirit is restored

note:  the prompt from Poetry Jam this week is “Solitude”.

Just a little further

I have come,
once again,

to that part of the journey

where the spirit must pass
through lassitude and languor . . .
                                                      or go no further.

Always, when I find myself,
at this place,
I am embraced by a phantom voice.

It tells me:  Just a little further.

Over the years, many different voices
have whispered those words to me.

It is a powerful incantation.

For . . . so far . . . I have always . . .
                                                                            continued on . . . . . . . . . . . .

note:  the prompt from Poetry Jam this week is "Journey".
